CARMEN, CEBU (June 2, 2019) ー Safari Boot Camp has officially started at Cebu Safari & Adventure Park (CSAP) last May 31, 2019 in Brgy. Corte, Carmen, Cebu.
This half-day immersive program allows students to get a first-hand experience of what goes on behind-the-scenes of the safari.
Dr. Glenn Matthew Perez, the head veterinarian of CSAP, said this is a good opportunity for kids to have a hands-on experience of the safari, and get reacquainted with nature.
Children’s Paradise Montessori School is the first school to attend the Safari Boot Camp. The students learned about the history of the safari and its animals.
The students also got to experience what the farmers do to produce a ton of food for the safari animals; they plowed the soil with carabaos and planted vegetables at the Vegetable Garden.
They also had an exclusive tour of the “Birds of the World” Aviary which showcased various birds found in different regions of the world. Last but not the least was the meet and greet of the students with the baby farm animals at the Petting Zoo.
The program is tailored to fit the schools’ unique requirements that would supplement their science and biology curricula.
“The boot camp will be an on-going program together with our partner schools. With this, we hope to teach our young students the value of responsible stewardship of our natural and cultural resources among other things,” said Carina Escario, the sales and marketing manager of CSAP.
