Plain Zebra

Equus quagga

There are three types of zebras in the world: the mountain zebra, the Grévy’s zebra, and me, the plain zebra.

We are known for our stripes which help us camouflage in the long grass. Our stripes are also unique to each zebra.

I am a very fast moving creature and can reach a speed of 65kmph when galloping. My kind, along with blue wildebeests and other antelopes, go on a 1,800-mile migration between the Serengeti in Tanzania and Kenya’s Masai Mara to search for food and water.
